Musician by trade and based in London, I was introduced to yoga by my aunt, a student of Desikachar and fiercely private guru from Ibiza.
A conviction to take my body to reach its full potential has led me to study ballet and Pilates, consult with osteopaths as well as surgeons, try a number of differences techniques to combat my shortcomings (I've had torn shoulder cuffs, foot tendons and scoliosis) and speak to as wide array of teachers as possible to widen my perspectives.
I am interested most of all in protecting the joints, using the body in the way that it is made to be used. In functional movement. I believe it is through physical movement and only through mastering your body, that one takes care of the mind.
I did my 500h advanced training with Jason Crandell in 2020. I continue to be mentored by him and others.
I favour classes that are intense but controlled, and teachers that are wise but lighthearted. This is what I try to bring into my own practices.
Emphasis is on technique, alignment, pace, intensity, strength and stabilisation. All while keeping a meditative, trance-like state, where you are not following complicated instructions and you can just go.
